The United Shippers Alliance’s (“USA”) export contracts were set to expire on October 31, 2012.  Several of USA carriers had previously filed extensions for November 15 to cover possible bookings.  The USA has successfully negotiated new contracts with APL, Hyundai, K-Line, ICL, NYK and USL. Many of the Trans-Pacific Westbound (“TPWB”) ocean carriers announced substantial General Rate Increases (“GRIs”) for TPWB, effective May 15, 2012.
