Franklin International is among the largest privately held manufacturers of adhesives and sealants in the United States, distributing its products to customers in over 60 countries on six continents around the globe. Given its tight margins, diverse supply chain and worldwide customer base, transportation and logistics are a very strategic part of Franklin’s business model. Recognizing this fact, Franklin International became one of the founding members of the United Shippers Alliance (“USA”) back in 1994. Franklin actively uses both the USA’s LTL and Ocean Transportation Programs. In doing so, Franklin is able to drive down its operating costs using highly competitive USA LTL and ocean container rates. In addition, Franklin is also able to ensure uninterrupted, time-sensitive delivery to both its U.S. customers and its customers around the globe because the USA provides multiple carrier options for Franklin to use in every one of its major trade lanes.
